What to Expect

The event is entirely outdoors and lasts around 4 hours. Gates open with live music already playing and food vendors running. You'll receive your lantern kit at check-in — take your time decorating it, walk around, find your spot. As the sun sets, the team guides everyone to the water's edge for the launch. After the release, stay and watch the lanterns drift before the event closes.

Date: July 10th and 11th 2026 General entrance: Access to the park is open for everyone. To actively participate in the ritual, get your tickets through Fever. Opening hours: The festival starts at 4:00 PM, and the lanterns will be released between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM. About the experience

What can I expect at the event? Water Lantern Festival is a magical and unforgettable event where families, friends, and communities come together to celebrate life, love, and hope. People of all ages and backgrounds gather for an evening filled with inspiration and sharing. As thousands of lanterns float on the water, their soft glow reflecting in the night, you will witness a breathtaking spectacle that will leave lasting memories and touch your heart.
Who benefits from it? Water Lantern Festival is a for-profit event, but we are proud to give back to the community by supporting charities and non-profit organizations at each of our events. You can check the event page to learn more about the local charities we collaborate with in your area. Our goal is to provide donation opportunities, raise awareness, and build strong, lasting relationships with these organizations that make a difference.
Where is the experience located? Plage du Fontanil - All. de la Plage, 69120 Vaulx-en-Velin
What time does the lantern release begin? The lantern release generally begins at sunset and lasts between one and two hours, allowing everyone enough time to launch their lantern onto the water.
What time should I arrive? You can arrive whenever you like. The event generally begins about three hours before sunset. We recommend arriving at least one hour before sunset to fully enjoy everything the festival has to offer! For more information, please refer to the official Water Lantern Festival guide, which will be sent by email to all participants one week before the event.
Is the experience indoors or outdoors? The experience takes place outdoors.
How long does the experience last? Visitors spend an average of 4 hours at this experience.
Will food and beverages be available for purchase on site? You will be able to purchase food and beverages at the event. There will also be vegan and gluten-free options available!
Is there parking nearby? Parking is available. In addition, parking areas are available at several locations within Miribel Jonage Park.
Will there be additional sessions added? Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that additional dates will be added. Please check the event page for any updates regarding availability, as well as confirmed dates and times.
Is there virtual reality? This experience does not include a virtual reality option.
Is there a dress code? There is no specific dress code for this experience. Casual attire is perfectly fine.
Will merchandise be available for purchase? Yes, stands will be available on site.
What happens in case of bad weather? We are committed to holding our events rain or shine. The safety and enjoyment of our participants are our top priorities, and we closely monitor weather conditions in collaboration with the city and the venue. In case of dangerous weather conditions or if recommended by local authorities, we may need to postpone the event to a later date. If this happens, you will be immediately informed by email, and our social media pages and website will be updated accordingly.

Where can I buy tickets?

Can I buy tickets on site? There will be a ticket office on site. However, tickets may be sold out by the time you arrive. We strongly recommend booking your tickets in advance to secure a time slot. You can purchase tickets via the Fever app or on the Fever website.
Can I transfer my ticket to another person? Yes, you can transfer your tickets free of charge to the person of your choice. Simply click on "Transfer ticket" from your ticket in the Fever app. Please contact us for any additional assistance. Don’t forget to provide your ticket ID number.
Do I need to print my ticket? You will find your ticket in the "Tickets" section of the Fever app (available on the Apple App Store or Google Play). Make sure to log in using the same method you used when making your purchase. You will also find your QR code in your purchase confirmation email.
I can’t find my ticket. What should I do? You can view your ticket in the Fever app under the "Tickets" section. If you haven’t installed the app yet, you can download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Make sure to log in with the same account used to purchase your ticket. If you still can’t find your ticket, please contact us.
Are refunds allowed? What is the exchange policy? For this event, all sales are final and tickets cannot be refunded, exchanged, or modified. For more information, please refer to our T&Cs.

Regarding event accessibility

Do I have to arrive at the time of my session? We recommend arriving at the time indicated on your ticket, but you may arrive within the following minutes.
Are animals allowed? Are guide dogs permitted? Unfortunately, animals are not allowed within the event grounds. However, guide dogs are welcome.
Is the venue accessible for people with reduced mobility? Yes, the event is accessible for people with reduced mobility.
Are there prohibited items? Can I smoke or vape? For the safety of all participants, weapons and illegal substances are prohibited within the event grounds.
Is the experience accessible for people with hearing/visual impairments? People with hearing impairments will be able to enjoy this experience as it is mainly visual. However, we do not recommend this experience for visually impaired individuals.
Will there be strobe lights? This event does not use strobe lighting.
Will seating be available during the experience? Are there places to sit? This is a seated event; however, no chairs will be provided and participants will sit on the grass in the park. We recommend planning accordingly.
Will there be restrooms on site? Restrooms will be available on site. Please ask our staff for directions.
Can I use my camera during the experience? Feel free to take photos and share them. Please be mindful not to disturb other visitors while taking pictures. Professional equipment and tripods are not allowed.
Is there a lost and found? We recommend asking the on-site staff if they have found your belongings. If you are unable to ask them, please contact us.
Is there a cloakroom available? Unfortunately, there is no cloakroom available.
Is there an age requirement? There is no minimum age required to attend this experience. The venue is stroller accessible.
Will there be an audio guide? Unfortunately, this experience does not include an audio guide.
